Extra Curricular

At Mount Litera Zee Schools, we focus on co-scholastic activities for the all-round development of students. Our emerging student profile (ESP) put equal emphasis on knowledge, life skills and values. MLZSC goes beyond academics to ensure that we provide students sufficient opportunities for achieving the ESP.

Events And Celebrations

Mount Litera Zee Schools organise various events and celebrations throughout the year. The chief of them is the Annual Function. Here are some major events and celebrations that our schools organize. Sports Day is one of the most important days in the school calendar along with the day of the Annual Function. Our school celebrate many local and national festivals along with participating in international projects like Japan Peace Crane Project. We encourage students to celebrate Grandparents’ Day so that students and the school can pay respect to the senior citizens in the community. Blue Ribbon Day celebrates our firm commitment for preventing child abuse. Our schools also have preferential access to BrainCafé Budding Scientist Contest, a nation-wide talent hunt for the best scientific talent in Grades 1-8.

Mount Litera Olympiad

The Mount Litera Olympiad is an inter-MLZS competition in which students from all MLZS participate to showcase their talent in various fields. This national-level competition requires students to prove their mettle in the school, zonal and national rounds. While competition encourages the spirit of excellence, we also focus on building inter-school relationships and exchange of ideas. The Olympiad has two parts: online and on-ground. Online events like photography and story writing competitions allow students from various schools to display their creative side. On-ground events include sports and athletics group (cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, and athletics) and the creative group (dance competition, debate and quiz). An important ritual in the zonal and national Olympiads is the Bonfire Night. Students, teachers and MLZS members gather around an exciting bonfire to share stories, play fun games and bond with the MLZS family.

LITERA CLUBS Litera Clubs

Mount Litera Zee School encourages students to participate in a wide-range of clubs in schools including clubs like Literary Club, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Club, Health and Wellness Club etc. Each Club is a community where students engage in continuous learning and MLZS supports them in finding their unique potential. Each club has activity groups, which are populated by interested members so that specific interest areas under a club can be addressed according to the number of interested students. A majority of the club activities are aligned with the Mount Litera Olympiad so that students have a goal and timeframe in mind when they engage in club activities.

Field Trips

Field trips are a popular activity for all students. No matter how old they are or where they are headed, kids love to explore new places with their friends. At MLZS, we understand that any trip cannot qualify as a field trip. Good planning is necessary to ensure a successful and educationally relevant trip. Aims and objectives of field trips are to provide experiential learning (application of principles and concepts learnt for multiple subjects), holistic development (physical, social and emotional), and to enable formative assessment. Based on the expected learning outcomes, all outdoor activities/experiential programs are planned, designed and incorporated into the curriculum framework and lesson plans. Each school implements the outdoor activities/field trips as per their schedules. Annual outdoor activity /field trip plan is developed when the academic year commences.

Sports

Swami Vivekananda famously said, “Be strong, my young friends; that is my advice to you. You will be nearer to Heaven through football than through the study of the Gita.” Age-appropriate development of the body helps nurture a sound mind. At Mount Litera Zee Schools, we offer various options for sports. In sports, we recommend football, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, badminton, and swimming (apart from indoor sports like table tennis and carom).
